Put simply, EPCs are Energy Performance Certificates.

If you are selling or renting your property then you need an EPC. It has been a legal requirement since 2007 to have an EPC for domestic properties, and 2008 for non domestic properties

An EPC is designed to rate the energy effiency of your property.

Effectively this is an asset rating, and tells you how energy efficient a building is; and its impact on the environment.

Properties are rated on a scale of A-G where an A rating is the most energy efficient.
